|Welcome||Notices||The Chaplain & Chapel Officers||Services||Music||History|
I hope that you are all enjoying the first days of spring. Time moves quickly, it seems, for we are at the same time already approaching the start of another season, that of Lent, despite its coming particularly late this year. In light of this, we shall not be having a Quiet Spaces service this Tuesday, but will instead be making pancakes for Shrove Tuesday in Owengate Kitchen from 8pm onwards. All are welcome to join us if you can! Meanwhile, services this week are as follows:
Wednesday at 7.30pm: Ash Wednesday service in the Cathedral. Many members of the chapel community will be going along to this service at the Cathedral. It is one of the most important days in the Church calendar, marking the beginning of an especially meditative and spiritual time. You can alternatively attend services at 7.30am and 12.30pm.
Thursday at 6pm: Choral Evensong in the Tunstal Chapel. Our series on Christianity and the Arts concludes with what promises to be a fascinating sermon on Arts Chaplaincy by Jim Craig. Fittingly for the beginning of new seasons, we shall look back to the very creation of humanity itself in our reading from Genesis, followed by one from Hebrews.
Sunday at 11am: Holy Communion in the Tunstal Chapel. Our usual Sunday service, with readings from Genesis and Romans and music from the choir, will be followed by drinks on the Tunstal Gallery.
At 2pm on Sunday afternoon the Castle Discussion Group will be meeting in the SCR, which everyone is more than welcome to contribute to.
Have a peaceful and Holy Lent, and God's blessings be with you all.
