MEETING DATE: Friday 14 March 2008
MEETING VENUE: University of Cambridge, Geography Department.
The main workshop was a one-day meeting involving all participants. This residential meeting began with an icebreaker session and workshop dinner the evening before a full day of presentations and discussion. The purpose was to present and discuss the key themes, defining our aims as a Network and our research goals. Each theme was introduced by a short presentation on the state-of-the-art of that field given by the theme leaders. Wider participation in discussions was sought from all participants (health professionals, medical and environmental scientists, policy makers and risk experts etc.). Key international experts also participated in this meeting, who offered unique expertise currently unavailable in the UK. Breakout sessions were held for small groups to define their opinions on the research priorities on natural dusts and health.
