Student Volunteer Week: 19-25th February

Student Volunteering Week (SVW) brings together organisations from all sectors to promote and celebrate the volunteering efforts of students across the Universities and Colleges in the UK. This year, SVW is going to be bigger and better than ever before with SCA!

SCA Durham have organised 25 one-off volunteering opportunities ranging from a massive elderly tea party, to conservation work in Auckland Castle, to throwing an ‘Olympics’ themed sports day for adults with learning disabilities. In addition to this, there are 3 social events for you to get involved with, including a rumoured ‘treasure hunt’ bar crawl and a fabulous awards evening.

SCA Queen’s have organised another 13 events, from ‘give it a go’ sessions to a circus themed children’s party!

To increase the impact Durham University has in the local community, SCA has also encouraged colleges and DSU groups and societies to get involved for the first time this year. So make sure you look out for any one-off events happening with them!

You can take our Buzzfeed quiz to figure out which one-off event you should sign up to, but don’t forget to check out our timetables below to hear about all the great events to get involved with!
