Experience Durham Wellbeing Programme

See below for details of our regular wellbeing programme starting w/c 25th April and running until the end of exams, all events are FREE to Durham Students and great way to beat the exam stress and take a break from your summatives!

Monday

Dog Walking – We’ll be heading to Deerness Kennels, a rescue centre for stray or abandoned dogs. Meet at 9am at the SCA office in the Palatine Centre, back at 11:30am. You’ll need to pre-register for this session so please drop a message to Rebecca on community.action@durham.ac.uk if you’re interested in coming along!

Pilates – These sessions have something to offer people of all levels of ability and fitness, aiming to strengthen the body and improve general fitness and wellbeing. In fact, they’re so good we’re running them twice! The first session takes place 11am-12pm and then again 12pm-1pm, both at Maiden Castle!

Tuesday

Barre Concept – This session takes place 12pm-1pm at Maiden Castle. Barre concept tones the thighs, lifts the butt, sculpts the arms and flattens the abs, all whilst burning fat. What’s not to love? Simply come along and join in!

Wednesday

Pilates – The perfect way to take some time out and de-stress during exam season! This session takes place in the Botanic Gardens, meeting outside the café at 12pm. There is limited availability so please contact deborah.cairns@durham.ac.uk to reserve a place!

Zumba – Come along to Fountains Hall, Grey College, 12pm-1pm for a stress-busting session! Open to all abilities it’ll be a lot of fun and a great way to keep fit during exam season!

Thursday

Led Dog Walk – Simply meet outside the Bill Bryson Library at 12pm for a lunch break with a difference! Come along for a short walk with some of our four legged friends – the walk should last approximately 40 minutes!

Friday

If you’d like to participate just come along to any of the sessions above! Please note that there is a limited capacity for some classes and places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. If any sessions are particularly popular we will look to put more classes on, so just keep an eye on this page.
