Feminism remains extremely relevant in nowadays society, where questions of gender, equality and stereotypes still constitute one of the main socio-political concerns. The exploration of this interdisciplinary theme at the student conference organised by the Feminist Society at Durham University offered a podium for undergraduate to produce and present early works of academic research. Thus, it meets the aims and objectives of Kaleidoscope, designed to offer a platform for students and early career researchers to share the product of their work with the academic community. This special issue of Kaleidoscope presents the best works from the conference held on 19th June 2014 in Durham.
