Morris Dancing

Morris Dancing is the most well known traditional dance of the British isles. It comes in many forms, such as Cotswold, Border, and North West. The Durham team dances Cotswold, which is the one with hankies, bells and white clothes. Our kit consists of a white shirt and black trousers (easier to keep clean!), with purple baldrics, black shoes and black socks. For more information about Morris Dancing in general, please visit its Wikipedia page, which is mostly accurate.

The Durham university morris side has temporarily merged with Kern Morris, who meet at 8:00pm on Wednesdays at the Elvet Methodist Church Hall.

We practice once a week on Tuesday at 19:30 in ER155. We welcome anybody, so please do come along and have a go. No experience is necessary and it's great fun! Musicians are also welcome.
