Computer Games

From casual console games such as Guitar Hero to sprawling sandbox adventures like Skyrim, many of our members are enthusiastic about computer games in some form or another. Since last term we’ve offered regular sessions with a focus on console gaming (Slappers-only Goldeneye, anyone?), as well as occasional larger events such as the popular Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament. This year, we are hoping to continue this trend as part of our Saturday sessions, while also working with CompSoc to add PC games such as Artemis and Left 4 Dead 2 to our line-up. In addition to this, there are plans for a Guitar Hero tournament later this term.

As well as playing computer games together in person, we also have our own Steam group – see the link on the right.  If you’re interested in joining then send us an email with your username, or add our Computer Games Warden (‘Gryphyl’) as a friend, and we’ll invite you.

Last but most definitely not least, for those of you who are interested in Minecraft, we have our own dedicated server specifically for members of the society – check out the Computer Games section of the forums for details on how to connect (again, see the links on the right).

I can't let you do that Dave.

Damn you Steam sales!
