DUCK - Charities Kommittee

Durham used to have a Rag Week until a group of students thought it a good idea to break into the high security prison in Durham and deliver a box of Milk Tray to the Governor. The incident, along with a flock of sheep appearing outside the Cathedral and a Principal’s car being suspended off Kingsgate Bridge, led the police to ban Rag Week. Durham students were left with no opportunity to raise money for the charity and the city, many say, lost its spirit.

Luckily however, we now have DUCK (Durham University Charities Kommittee.) With a specific fundraising weekend during Michaelmas Term, followed by a DUCK Week in Epiphany Term and a Duck Day in Easter Term, there are also events throughout the year, both on both a university and college level.
