The free Blackboard Instructor app is available for iOS and Android mobile devices, and is now available at Durham (following the successful upgrade). It is aimed at staff (or anyone else enrolled as an Instructor, Course Builder or Teaching Assistant on a course in duo). Students are expected to use the companion Blackboard Student app.
Blackboard Instructor allows you to view course content as it will appear in the Blackboard Student app, view and post announcements and interact with discussion boards. It also allows you to interact with your class using Blackboard Collaborate, though use of this tool is current limited to a few departments. In this first release that’s it sadly- no online marking, no ability to edit course content or do anything else useful. There is no support for third party content like Turnitin assignments either. Hopefully these features will be added in later releases.
