The call for papers is open!
We welcome papers on any topic that you think will interest delegates. As well as papers on the conference theme (assessment and feedback) feel free to submit papers about any novel eLearning development, technical tips and tricks for Blackboard system administrators, etc. There are a range of formats and session lengths - full details are on the form.
Excellent workshops with institutional context and understanding, highlighting how Blackboard is being used across the sector and what can be learnt from it. Lots of opportunities to meet with other delegates and ask questions / swap information.
The conference is also extremely valuable to make connections within the sector and learn about difference TEL practice. Each year I meet a few more people and this means I learn heaps and take way lots of valuable information that can be employed in my institution.
Unlike the more 'corporate' conferences, which only seem to promote the benefits of a particular product, it was particularly refreshing talking to other user's and learning about both their successes and failures. Which should not ignore the learning opportunities that can originate from so-called 'failures'!
Best feature about the conference has to be the very open, relaxed and friendly atmosphere that encapsulates Bb Durham.
Definitely the highlight of the year.
Supportive atmosphere, opportunities to meet with colleague at other institutions and share practice. Good mix of presentations specific to Blackboard together with more general ones on other TEL tools etc.
Great array of workshops and sessions from institutions all over the country. Perfect opportunity to hear about and discuss some of the scenarios, issues and activities that other institutions have.
As someone relatively new to the field it was a very positive opportunity to network with colleagues, an inspiring start to the new semester.
Like a good festival, if booking was open now... I would sign up! Thank you to all the Durham Team you are awesome.
This is genuinely the most useful conference for a Blackboard user as it is honest, informative, and reciprocal.
