Multi-functional Chelate Donor Ligands
We are investigating the coordination chemistry of a range of easy to prepare, heterodifunctional, chelating ligands containing mixed hard-soft donor sets (e.g. L1-L5).3,4 These systems provide a rigid, unsymmetrical metal coordination environment that can be exploited in a number of ways. A variety of straightforward synthetic approaches are being employed, all of which readily allow for both steric and electronic modifications to the ligand, providing a basis for catalyst tuning.
