President & Postgraduate Representative (SU)

Harry Cross "I am the President of the SCR and I am delighted to welcome you to St Aidan's. I have been a member of the SCR for 3 years and it's a great community that offers a range of academic and social events. I have overall responsibility for the running of SCR events and building a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. If you have any ideas for the SCR or want to get involved in any way then please get in touch!"

Chair

Mr. John Blackman (john.blackman@durham.ac.uk)

“John John Blackman is a second year PhD student in the department of Mathematical Sciences. He has been a member of St. Aidan's College for the past five years and graduated with an MMath in 2016. His role as chair, is to interpret and maintain the constitution, as well as to call and chair meetings. John is also a member of the college Jazz band and is an avid climber.

Treasurer

Ms. Isabelle Verhees (isabelle.m.verhees@durham.ac.uk)

Isabelle Verhees Isabelle is an LLM student specialising in International Law and Governance. She studied Politics and Economics in her undergraduate degree. Isabelle loves to laugh hysterically and occasionally manages to hold a serious conversation. She looks forward to meeting people at college and strengthening the college community through her role on the SCR. As treasurer she is responsible for the SCR's budgeting and expenditure. She is extremely approachable and open to taking on any new ideas to improve the college experience.

Secretary

Mr. Tom Musson (thomas.e.musson@durham.ac.uk)

Tom Musson Tom is a 4th year Music student, studying for a Master's Degree in Music and Theology. He is interested in the relationship between contemporary Christian worship music in our neo-Liberal society, questioning the church's role in the modern world. As secretary, he is responsible for all admin-related areas of the SCR, and is your first point of contact for any queries or questions. Alongside working in the SCR, Tom is the producer of the University's Professional Concert Series MUSICON and represents postgraduate students at faculty level meetings.

Social Secretary

Ms. Claire Jordan (claire.h.jordan@durham.ac.uk)

Claire Jordan Claire is from Norway and did her undergrad there. She qualified as a teacher in May. She’s currently doing her MAs in intercultural communication and Education. As a social secretary at St.Aidans she wants to create events that includes every postgrad at our college. She is looking forward to meet new people at the college during her year in Durham. Some of her Interests are traveling and experiencing different parts of the world, music, and enjoyes stereotypical Norwegian things such as skiing and knitting!

IT Officer & Postgraduate Representative (Academics)

Mr. Simon Guisset (simon.guisset@durham.ac.uk)

Simon Guisset Simon is a taught MSc Student working in Theoretical Physics with two undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Physics. He is a proud Belgian citizen as evidenced by his love for a well brewed beer. Simon is passionate about Fundamental Physics questions and Pure Mathematics and is also a huge fan of the "Lord of the Rings". As the IT officer, Simon is responsible for the SCR’s website, mailing list, and other IT related issues. As a Postgraduate Representative, Simon plans on organizing lectures and seminars series and is responsible for any academics issues encountered by students.

Postgraduate Representative (International)

Mr. Yinquan Zhang (yinquan.zhang@durham.ac.uk)

Yinquan Zhang Yinquan (Brian) Zhang is a Msc student in Management from Hebei, a province of China in the North China region. He loves varieties of ball games and he is passionate about good food, alcohol culture and traveling with his friends. As the International Postgraduate Representative, Brian is looking forward to representing his peers’ views to the Executive Committee, and plans on focusing on international students’ needs by working closely with St. Aidan’s International Society. Ms. Anna Christodoulou (ccnt81@durham.ac.uk)

Anna Christodoulou Hello there! My name is Anna Christodoulou and I am a law school graduate currently studying the Criminology and Criminal Justice MSc programme here at Durham University. I am originally from Cyprus and have been living in the UK for the past four years now. When I am not nose deep in a book, I enjoy binge watching documentaries on Netflix and working out. Socialising is the ‘activity’ I enjoy the most particularly in environments which stimulate both educational and positive dialogues. Seeing as how I am a liver out myself, my goal as a postgraduate representative is to ensure livers out are making the most out of their college experience and ensure everyone understands that all of us, independently and collectively, have a voice.

Ms. Viona Ho (jing.q.ho@durham.ac.uk)

Viona Ho Viona Ho is a MSc student in Marketing from Singapore hoping to make your experience in college a comfortable and enjoyable one. As the PG Representative for livers-in, she is responsible for representing the views of all the members of the SCR to the executive committee and to the college, in particular, for postgraduates who are living in college. When she’s not studying, Viona is constantly thinking of new places to travel to. Don’t hesitate to contact her if you need anything!
