Welcome to Stephenson College JCR!

This is our official website; the home of our Junior Common Room!

What is a JCR?
The JCR is the collective body of undergraduate students at Stephenson College and put simply is an organisation that encompasses all of the non-academic aspects of university life. We organise various social events (including our formal, or informal, dinners) for undergraduate students of Stephenson College as well as co-ordinating college sports and societies. In addition, we have an amazing team on hand to support you with any Welfare needs you may have! Led by students, our mission is to make sure that your university life does not just consist of studying for a degree!

Who runs the JCR?
The JCR is organised by your President and the Executive Committee, all of whom have been democratically elected by the students! Although they help shape it, it is ultimately maintained by the entire student body who can be involved in many different ways, from being the captain of a sports team to the president of a society. Without its members the JCR cannot be the efficient, evolving organism that it is; your involvement, however small, really does make a huge difference!

To find out about the JCR (or Stevo in general), please use the menu at the top of the page, or even better come and talk to one of our amazing reps. Don’t forget to get in touch and stay up to date through our social media pages, which are linked at the top and the bottom of the page.
