Call for Papers (Submission Deadline 10th April 2019)
In this fifth conference in the Enhancing Student Learning Through Innovative Scholarship series we focus on enhancing learning for all through active learning. We welcome presentations on this theme from University teachers and their students, academic developers and all those involved in curriculum design and student support.
Active learning refers to a broad range of teaching strategies which engage students as active participants in their learning. Typically, these strategies involve some amount of group work, but may also involve individual work and/or reflection. This theme incorporates all kind of activities, an indicative (and definately not complete) list includes:
- Team Based Learning
- Problem Based Learning
- Project Based Learning
- Playful Learning
- Simulation & Role Play Based Learning
Contributions are welcomed on any of these topics, or others which fall under this theme, and we also welcome co-presentation from staff and students.
Asides from invited keynotes (TBC), contributions may take the form of
- Talks (20 mins (15 + 5 mins for questions))
- Snapshots (5 mins)
- Workshop (90 mins)
