Ustinov’s Communications and Media Team held an informative free filming and live streaming training session on the 8th of November. Our instructor, Mike Appels, taught us the basics of video and audio, plus how to produce a live stream from preparing all relevant media to actual broadcast. The workshop began with an overview of filming, including shots and composition, before moving onto creating a live stream on YouTube and learning how to use Open Broadcaster Software (OBS).
Participants were keen to put their new skills to work and had a chance to create their very own live stream on the spot. Plenty of questions were asked and Mike was able to come over to each individual and help them with any issues they were facing on their own computer.
This training has equipped the attendees with the skills required to film events and knowledge of the tools needed to add text, logos, and audio to film footage, without having to extensively edit the footage afterwards. This makes the filming process more efficient.
Those who participated are now welcome to live stream videos of upcoming Global Citizenship Programme events. These will be streamed on YouTube and shared in The Ustinovian, our College magazine/blog, and on our social media channels.
If you missed this workshop but are interested in live streaming or joining our media team, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
