Candle in the Wind 1281

Goodbye Sir Danya
Though I never knew you at all
You had the strength to hold the line
While those around you'd fall
They'd fall out of the battle
And they whispered into your brain
They sent you through the moorlands
And they made you fight again

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing what to strive for
When the wars set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But you were just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did

Loneliness was tough
The toughest fight you ever made
Morvana created a heroine
And fame was the price you paid
Even when you died
Oh the gods still hounded you
All the churches had to say
Was that Danya gave her life too soon

And it seems to me ...

Goodbye Sir Danya
From the young man fighting in the 2nd rank
Who knows it isn't just financial
It's always more than money in the bank.

(With the heartfelt apologies to Sir Elton John which are mandatory on such occasions)
