River Trip

What better way to start the final term of the year than a river trip, as usual we will see what the conditions are like on the day and choose a river accordingly.

Everyone is welcome as long as they get to the boathouse at 10 am, we will hopefully be back in Durham by 4 pm.

BUCS POLO

The last bucs event of the year!!!!!

Get signed up for the biggest polo competition in the university calendar. (Or as dan would like to think the universe!!)

This is a chance to play against many different university teams (over twenty unis attend this competition) at a level to suit you. There is a mens, women's, b league and an old boys so something to suit everyone.

Again if you do not wish to play but want to come and support as ever you are more than welcome.  We don't organise this event so you won't be expected to help- just bring banners and pom-poms!

The more the merrier at this event. In previous years we have done well and it is great to have as many people there as possible from all levels, beginner to seasoned pro.

We will have a bucs training week before hand so get ready for that as well. We will leave on the Friday 13th April and return on the Sunday. It's also in April and south so nice and warm - yay !

BUCS POLO TRAINING WEEK

This is a chance to come back and refresh your polo skills before the bucs competition at the end of the week. We will have a range of activities from tactics sessions to water based skills and practice games. It is arranged so people also have time to revise for upcoming exams and finish off those last essays of the year.

It is really important to try and make this week as it gives the est chance of performing well at the competition a session well as practicing as a team.

Easter Scotland Trip

This is the first large trip away of the year. We will be heading up to somewhere in Scotland to spend several days experiencing some of the best whitewater in the country. We will be doing a range of rivers for most abilities. We ran a similar trip last year, so if you want to find out more, just ask Molly, Max, Ronan or Philippa.

If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.

Thursday Polo session

Canoe Polo training session.

Wednesday Barrage Session

The Wednesday barrage sessions take place at the Tees Barrage in Stockton. We meet at the boathouse at 4 pm after the gym session. The barrage is an artificial white water course with a cafe and showers.

With BUCS slalom and NSR both happening this term, the sessions are a good time to try out freestyle moves or nail your gate technique.

Everyone is welcome to come along!

Monday pool session

Meet at the boathouse for 19:40, to load the boats onto cars and drive to Darlington.

The session is 21:00-22:00 and you can expect to be back in Durham for around 22:45.

Please bring swimwear, and a towel (and t-shirt/shorts/leggings to wear on top in the pool if you want).

In this session there will be opportunities to practise general kayaking skills, play games and have fun in the warmth of a swimming pool with our trained coaches -- one of the best sessions of the week to come to if you're a beginner, or if you want to work on improving any of your kayaking skills.

This term there will be more of a focus on building skills for the upcoming events in polo, slalom, and freestyle.

Post AGM river trip

To welcome in the new exec and get out on what should hopefully be some sick water, we are heading off on a post AGM paddle. So come along, meet your new dictators and have a bit of fun on the last weekend of term. Plus it's on Sunday so you should have recovered from your hangovers from the post AGM social by then...

Meet 10 am Sunday. Suitable for all.

Yorkshire league

The last Yorkshire league. This is another great opportunity for anyone to come and practice polo before bucs. A friendly tournament where little experience is needed.

We are aware it clashes with slalom however we are going to try and make it possible that people can do both events where they wish.
