Bobble Hat Order

We will be ordering bobble hats from playerlayer on the 27th -- if you would like to order one you must sign up to this event and pay money to the canoe club account by the 26th!

The hats will be £10.80 and this money must be paid to the club in advance of sending in the order.

Monday pool session

Meet at the boathouse for 19:40, to load the boats onto cars and drive to Darlington.

The session is 21:00-22:00 and you can expect to be back in Durham for around 22:45.

Please bring swimwear, and a towel (and t-shirt/shorts/leggings to wear on top in the pool if you want).

In this session there will be opportunities to practise general kayaking skills, play games and have fun in the warmth of a swimming pool with our trained coaches -- one of the best sessions of the week to come to if you're a beginner, or if you want to work on improving any of your kayaking skills.

This term there will be more of a focus on building skills for the upcoming events in polo, slalom, and freestyle.

River Trip

This is the normal day river trip. Again, it will be suitable for all, but where we go will depend on conditions.

Meet at MC at 9 am.

Thursday Polo session

Canoe Polo training session.

Wednesday Barrage Session

The Wednesday barrage sessions take place at the Tees Barrage in Stockton. We meet at the boathouse at 4 pm after the gym session. The barrage is an artificial white water course with a cafe and showers.

With BUCS slalom and NSR both happening this term, the sessions are a good time to try out freestyle moves or nail your gate technique.

Everyone is welcome to come along!

Yorkshire league

The last Yorkshire league. This is another great opportunity for anyone to come and practice polo before bucs. A friendly tournament where little experience is needed.

We are aware it clashes with slalom however we are going to try and make it possible that people can do both events where they wish.

Bucs slalom

The second bucs event of the academic year !!

Here there is a chance to race down the tees barrage in a number of different categories - k1, c1, c2 and teams. It is nice and local to Durham and also ran by the friends group so even if you don't want to paddle any help is very much appreciated !

This is sutible for anyone who has been down the barrage or to a few river trips. Please ask ask dan robson or molly agar if you are unsure.

Please sign up stating what category you would like to enter (you can do more than one)

Refreshers Weekend Away

On the first weekend in February, we will be heading over to the Lakes for a couple of days. We'll be paddling rivers both days and we might even get to do something else too. Heading over on the Friday night, we'll base ourselves in a hall (so we don't need to camp in the cold!) and have some fun. This is a great weekend if you want to get back into paddling after the Christmas break.

Any questions, don't hesitate to contact Molly or other exec members.

River Trip

The weekly river trip is back. We won't know where exactly until the day, but the river we do will be suitable for everyone. Meet at the boat house at 10 am and we hope to be back in Durham by 5 pm. Hopefully the snow will be gone by then, but bring plenty of warm clothes for on and off the river.
