Dr Jocelyn Bryan

Dr Jocelyn Bryan, Director the DThM Programme and Cranmer Tutor. She oversees the academic programmes in Cranmer Hall, heading up the Academic Team which includes the Undergraduate Director of Studies, the MATM Director and the Academic Administrator. She teaches Pastoral and Practical Theology, Human Sexuality, Gender and Christian Ministry and Psychology and Christian Ministry. She has worked in Ministerial Formation for over a decade, before that she worked in management for a large computer company.

Her PhD is in psychology for which she researched ageing and everyday memory. Jocelyn’s main research interest is in the interdisciplinary field of psychology, theology and ministry. She has written Human Being: Insights from Psychology and The Christian Faith, co-edited The Christian Handbook of Abuse, Addiction and Difficult Behaviour and has contributed two chapters to a book on Sexual Issues. She has also published a number of reflections on pastoral challenges in the volume – Facing The Issues and published liturgies and sermons on Difficult Subjects. Her latest writing project is a book on Life Transitions, Psychology and Ministry. She is the co-editor of the St John’s College Online Journal Theology and Ministry.

Jocelyn is a licensed Reader in the Church of England. She serves in two parishes which are part of the East Durham Mission Project.
