Faith in Social Media? Discipleship in a Digital Age with Andy Byers, author of TheoMedia.
Saturday 16 June, 9am-1pm, at Stockton Baptist Church, The Square, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 1TE.
What does discipleship look like in a digital age? How can we be faithful followers on Facebook? Whether you’re totally LinkedIn to social media or wondering WhatsApp, come along and think about how faith and online worlds interact. This session is ideal for any and every Christian and will help you think both deeply and practically about an inescapable feature of the world we live in.
The Revd Dr Andy Byers hails from the USA and is a Southern Baptist with extensive experience in pastoral ministry. He came to the UK to undertake doctoral research exploring the vision of Christian community in John’s Gospel, and from there moved into student ministry and then into his current role as Director of the Free Church Track at Cranmer Hall. He has written several books including TheoMedia: The Media of God in the Digital Age. He and his wife, Miranda, enjoy daily adventures with their four children.
Theology for Everyone aims to help ordinary Christians think biblically and relevantly about important and awesome topics to do with God and his world. It really is for everyone: you don’t need to have studied theology (or anything else!), or to have come last year, or to come to every session this year (though we’d love it if you did!).
Single session: £10 (waged) / £5 (unwaged)
