Application Form

The 2020 school had to be cancelled due to the covid pandemic. We currently don't have any fixed plans for the next school. We've left these pages online for information.

The 2020 Powder Diffraction & Rietveld Refinement School will be held at Durham University from the afternoon from the afternoon of Sunday 29th March to Thursday 2nd April 2020..

The cost of the course will be £500 for PhD students and university-based PDRAs and £800 for industrial and academic staff. This fee includes registration, 4 nights' accommodation in en-suite single rooms, all meals and all teaching materials.

To apply for a place on the School please complete the form below. Please don't send any money until you have been offered a place. Submission of an application form does not guarantee your place on the course. The number of places is limited and in case of over-subscription the organisers will prioritise applications to achieve a balance between institutions, research groups and scientific disciplines.

The deadline for applications is Friday 17 January 2020. Places will be offered by email in early February. Once you have been offered a place we will request payment by 28 February 2020. If for any reason you wish to withdraw your application please contact ivana.radosavljevic@durham.ac.uk as soon as possible.

Please read the following instructions for completing the form very carefully. The applications are received and entered into a database in an automated way, and you will not receive an acknowledgement of receipt. However, you must adhere to the following instructions to ensure that your application is correctly received and archived:

  • Please don't use all capitals when filling out the form
  • Please don't use any special characters, commas or semi-colons in your responses
  • Thanks for your interest in the course.
