Pictures from a visit to Brimham Rocks [54 4 46 N, 1 41 8 W] (National Trust) during the Easter break.
Clambering over the weathered millstone grit rocks is irresistible for kids of all ages, and not a warning notice in sight…
Panorama view
The area was packed with families enjoying the unseasonally warm April weather.
The exposure responsible for the wind erosion that carved out the rock formations also gives magnificent views of the surrounding North Yorkshire countryside.
Some of the names given to the rock formations are fairly fanciful, but does anyone else see a resemblance to the Sphinx here?
