View over the town of Arabba where we were based.
View “up town”. The main road (left) leads on to the Pordoi Pass and the town of Canazei, while the road off to the right goes over the Campolongo Pass to Corvara.
View “down town”. Note the rather anachronistic British telephone box outside the chalet on the left!
Chalet where we stayed (“El tabia”).
It didn’t take long for the extent of the Italian obsession with cycling to become obvious. The picture is of cyclists competing in the Maratona dles Dolomites which involved almost ten thousand cyclists, most competing on a gruelling 138 km course up and down the mountain passes.
