Pictures from a 3 week stay in Lyon as part of research leave (“sabbatical”) during the 1st term of the 2009-10 academic year.
The Lumiere festival in mid-November saw Durham lit up with a large number of light installations. The weather wasn’t too kind and it wasn’t on the same scale as Lyon’s Fête des Lumières, but it was spectacular nonetheless (although difficult to do justice to without a high-end camera and tripod).
