The Lumiere festival in mid-November saw Durham lit up with a large number of light installations.  The weather wasn’t too kind and it wasn’t on the same scale as Lyon’s Fête des Lumières, but it was spectacular nonetheless (although difficult to do justice to without a high-end camera and tripod).

Sound and light show played out on the side of the Cathedral facing Palace Green.  Difficult to capture with the low light levels!

OK, not part of the festival, but fitting in with the theme – prayer candles in the Cathedral.

Not really part of the set either, but it seemed a shame to leave them out: views West and North from the top of the cathedral tower.
