Finally managed to visit St Mary’s Lighthouse when the tide was out and the lighthouse was open!

Train on the Weardale railway. Like the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway this is another preservation railway, mainline operations on this branch line from Bishop Auckland having stopped in 1993 (after the main industrial customer switched to road transport).
Photos from the walk along the valley from the terminus at Stanhope back to Wolsingham (the train not having stopped as we had expected as Forsterley…)
