Traquair House
(L) Traquair house, just south of Innerleithen, and (R) its (Catholic) chapel. As Catholics and supporters of the Jacobite cause, the Earls of Traquair found themselves on the wrong side history during the 1700s. Their relative poverty meant that the house escaped modernisation and so now retains much of its 17th C character.
