A visit to Temple Newsam, just east of Leeds, at the end of July.
Temple Newsam has a small farm with a collection of unusual breeds, including this Bourbon Red turkey.
York
Pictures of York Minster from a short weekend trip to York.
(Top L) Main hall, (Top R) undercroft and (Bottom) chapel of the fascinating Merchant Adventurers’ Hall.
Rothbury
A British summer wedding! To be fair, the weather had been fine for the Fay and Tim’s wedding service, and the downpour back at Cartington Farm just shortened the boring bits with photos.
Pictures of the Northumberland coast east of Howick Hall and gardens. Howick was the home of the Earls Grey, and fittingly has an excellent tea room serving, of course, Earl Grey tea.
The evening meal at the Three Wheat Heads Inn, Thropton, was memorable for the “pigeon sizzler” – finally a good thing from a pigeon.
Holmfirth Vineyard
Yorkshire is not ideal grape growing territory, but the Holmfirth vineyard is making a good go of it.
Bolling Hall
(L) Clock dating from 1659 and (R) main room of Bolling Hall, Bradford.
