View of the disused Belmont railway viaduct across the Wear, just north and east of Durham. The viaduct connected the current Durham railway station to the former North-South Leamside line. Unfortunately recent plans to re-open the viaduct as a cycle route came to nothing.
A frozen Daugava river in Riga in mid February. It was cold, and, despite being bright, the low angle of the sun limited the opportunities for taking pictures in the city itself.
Walton Hall is an 18th C stately home near Wakefield which is built on a lake island and accessible only by bridge. It’s most well-known owner was the early conservationist Charles Waterton.
