University teaching experience

Main teaching: Research methods module for Ed.D.; Module on ‘Experiments in Education’ for MA in Research Methods; MSc in Educational Assessment; Research Methods for BA.

 

Undergraduate

I have taught on modules in Education in Practice (policy) and Context of Education (philosophy of education) for the Education Studies (joint honours) degree. I was module convenor (2002-4) for Educational Research Methods for the same degree.

Initial teacher training

I have taught Research Methods in Education for the B.A.(QTS) course. I have given the keynote lecture on Assessment for the secondary P.G.C.E. and the lecture on Social Influences on Education for combined P.G.C.E. students. In the past I have contributed to the secondary mathematics P.G.C.E. programme.

Masters

I have taught on the Contemporary Issues and Research in Education (research methods) module and supervised 12 dissertations for the M.A. (Ed). I was convenor of the Supervised Independent Study and Dissertation modules (2001-3). I was (2004-2011) convenor of a module on Experiments in Education for the M.A. in Research Methods (Education). I have been acting course leader for the MSc in Educational Assessment and am convenor for the module on Judgement Based Assessment.

Doctoral (Ed.D.)

I have taught the Analysing, Interpreting and Using Educational Research (research methods) module for the UK (2000-2011) and International Summer School (2001-8) cohorts on the Ed.D. course. I have also taught the Thesis Proposal module.
